Heat maps help visually describe location data. If you have never been to Australia (NSW/QLD/VIC) and need to pick the best area for you to live then the below heat maps will help you out.

What is covered by these heat maps?

The presented heat maps covers crime rates, median/average house prices and property price growth, schools and NAPLAN ranks, average income per person, ethnicity accents.

We encourage your sceptical attitude and seek for a professional and qualified advice. Our heat maps are based on the data sourced from mostly government agencies supplied on Creative Commons License. The data might have a certain degree of incorrect values. It is all designed to give a user just a general idea about locations and its characteristics.

Crime rate is the number of offences per population in the postcode or suburb. Crime rate heat maps are available for the following states: NSW, VIC, QLD.

For most states we compare median or average house price in this year versus last year value. Property price growth heat map is available for the following states: NSW, VIC.

If an area has substantially more residents of certain background than other ares then we highlight this by colouring this postcode/suburb with corresponding colour.

We calculate an average score for each year and then rank schools by the average NAPLAN Score for each year. For example, there could be 2 schools having #1 rank: one for Year 5 and another one for Year 10.
